In October 2004 Langdons were acquired by the Nagel Group, based in Versmold Germany. Nagel Group which is a privately owned company and was founded in 1935, is the market leader in the chilled food distribution in Germany, Austria and Denmark and operates in 14 European countries.
The Nagel Group employs approx. 9.300 staff and 4.100 vehicles in more than 80 depots throughout Europe and achieved a combined Group turnover in excess of Euro 1,4 bn in 2008.
The Nagel Group have ambitions to become a major player in the UK temperature controlled food logistics market and now have access to our expanding UK network.
This also means that Langdons customer now have access to Nagel Group’s impressive European network providing a cost effective option to move anything from single pallets to full loads across Europe. These services are provided by our sister company Nagel Logistics (UK) Ltd in Dover.
